What we offer
All services at CPCS are offered to clients free of charge to the entire community regardless of race, religion, disability, creed, sex, age, nationality or marital status.
Pregnancy Tests - The pregnancy test that we offer is self-administered and over 99% accurate even before a period is missed. One of our peer counselors will guide you through the test and be available to answer any questions you may have. Cornerstone offices are not medical facilities.
Peer Counseling - Peer counseling for all women, men and teens touched by an unplanned pregnancy. Help and loving care from trained volunteers is available to help you make decisions everyone can live with. We provide a safe place for you to talk. No one will pressure you, no one will tell you what to do. Someone will listen. Someone will give you accurate information. Someone will be there... week after week, for as long as you need us. All peer counseling is confidential and free.
Abortion Education - Our counsel is that abortion compounds rather than solves the problems associated with a crises pregnancy. The Center never advises, provides or refers for abortion or abortifacients. We will advise you of the side effects following an abortion procedure known as the emotional risks as well as the possible physical and spiritual risks associated with an abortion.
Mens Outreach - We live in a generation of fatherlessness. Our outreach to men is to encourage them with Biblical principles and practical information in their role as father, husband and parent.
Parenting support - Information is available on prenatal development, life-giving alternatives, childhood development, education/vocation resources.
Lincoln University Outreach - Trained volunteers are on campus Tuesday mornings from 9 am-12 noon during the normal school year providing free pregnancy tests and peer counseling. You can find us in the Health Services building.
Material Assistance - If a womans pregnancy test is positive, Cornerstone offices can provide material and emotional support during the decision making process and following the pregnancy. The first months of pregnancy as well as the first years of parenting can be exciting and challenging. Cornerstone can provide guidance for decisions now faced. We can assist with maternity and baby clothes and baby equipment (strollers, car seats, highchairs, cribs or other supplies as available).
Temporary Housing - Private homes are available to provide the one-on-one support system needed for women unprepared for pregnancy. We stand with the young woman through the months of pregnancy, helping her to move towards the best decisions for her child and a future for herself.
Referrals - We can help you locate the assistance that you need by providing referrals for medical care, legal aid, housing, professional counseling and financial assistance as needed,
Grief Bible Study - Support for any one who has experienced a loss of a child through stillbirth, miscarriage, abortion or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Counselors are available to meet with individuals who need to talk about a past abortion. Post-abortion counseling is designed to assist women and men to identify the symptoms of Post Abortion stress and alleviate the feelings associated with the past abortion. These symptoms may include feelings of guilt or betrayal, anger or distrust, emptiness or depression. Healing and forgiveness is possible through Jesus Christ. Contact us for more details. Group or individual support is available with confidentiality strictly adhered to by the volunteers and staff.
Abstinence Presentations - We can schedule presentations for groups of young people and single adults who want to know all about "safe sex". Presentations are suitable for the public or private schools, church or youth setting (any size group).
